Important Information !
At Kee West we provide ourselves on fast, safe,
reliable service within Canada and the United States. We understand that
quick delivery of your freight from purchase point to your store is crucial to
the success of your business. We also realize the need for your unit to
arrive as it was when we picked it up. Kee West in furthering to
continue to be a leader in the Auto Carrier industry carries comprehensive
insurance on "ALL" our Auto Carriers which would, for example, insure you for
the value of your vehicle in a "Total Loss Situation".
BEWARE!
There are other companies in the
industry that only carry basic insurance called "Legal Liability Form"
which only will cover you by paying you out per pound which is the equivalent to
a maximum of $2 per pound, not the actual cash value of the vehicle, depending
on their plan.
At Kee West we carry what is called a "Direct
Damage Form". As an example, if something were to happen to your 2003
Cadillac Escalade valued at $63,000.00 in regards to all losses regardless of
the situation (with the exception of Hail Damage), Our insurance company
would pay out that VALUE of the vehicle. With the Direct Damage
Form, the limits are the actual value of the vehicle provided by the shipper, or
the fair market value, (which could be higher). If you were transporting
with someone who had basic insurance (Legal Liability Form policy), you
would only be paid out a maximum of $2 per pound of the weight of that vehicle.
For example, on the 2003 Cadillac in the previous example, at $2 per pound
and a gross vehicle weight of 7007 pounds, your maximum pay out in event of a
total loss might be $14,014.00.
Kee West has always had the Direct Damage Form
coverage in place, which certainly comes at a higher premium. Without a
doubt, most Auto Transporters only carry the Legal Liability Form coverage.
We are unsure of your requirements or whether you have coverage for vehicles in
excess of the Legal Liability Form. This would be significant, especially
in a total loss situation. As always, Kee West has tried to always
